Tokyo might not seem like the natural place for small British sportscar maker Lotus to reveal a new model but it’s done exactly that. Alongside the Japanese debut of the Evora, Lotus rolled out its Exige Stealth: a matte-painted machine that’d look perfect in Darth Vader’s garage.
What’s all the fuss about?
A special edition Lotus is always going to cause a stir and this Stealth one in Tokyo did exactly that. The flat paint gives this limited-run machine a look that lives up to its name, the contrasting gloss black stripes and carbon fibre trim making it about the most aggressive looking Exige we’ve ever seen. The most touched too, nobody passing it able to resist the temptation to feel the soft finish of the paintwork. Only 35 will be built and five are earmarked for Japanese customers.
Any new technology?
Not really, except that fancy paint – which unlike others is a proper matte finish rather than a matte lacquer over regular paint. It’s about 10kg lighter than the regular 260bhp Exige Cup car it’s based on. Sold as the Stealth in Japan only, it’ll be called Scuda elsewhere in the world – which is Italian for ‘dark’, apparently. {via}

Toyota’s President Akio Toyoda has said the automaker is in desperate need of an excitement injection, and here’s the first dose: the Toyota FT-86 Concept.
Inspired by the Corolla-based AE86 sports coupe of the ’80s, the FT-86 concept was designed by the automaker’s ED2 styling studio in France and bears a remarkable resemblance to the FT-HS concept shown at the Detroit Auto Show several years back.
The engine is powered by Subaru’s 2.0-litre boxer, which puts out 146bhp in current production form but should develop slightly more in future iterations. The FT-86 has a 2+2 seating configuration and measures 416cm in length, just a fraction longer than the Audi TT and around 18cm shorter than the Lotus Evora.
The concept that measures 4,160mm long, 1,760mm wide, and 1,260mm high with a wheelbase of 2,570mm also features ADVICS brakes. Inside, the 2+2 concept features an instrument panel with a gray and white base, gauges with red neon lights and digital displays as well as a navigation system.

Race car beds are a fantastic theme that you can place in any age of boy’s room. Working for any age it’s a great idea of a fantastic look that the child can also help with when you use it for their bedroom.
If your good at woodworking, you can even look into making race car beds yourself if you want. You have a choice when you buy them though between plastic materials or wooden race car beds. Remember you can always change the colors with some non-harmful paint too.
Let your kid have a son in the room’s color scheme, even if they pick out an odd color like orange that you may not want to switch the whole room over to. Just painting one wall in the room with that distinctive orange can make a huge difference in the d?cor.
You can even look for race car beds that are the colors of your kid’s favorite driver if he has one, and have his number on them. Add in some other accessories to the room to finish up the look. If you have your son pick out some of the accessories they will feel very proud.
